These recordings are from a Pranayama intensive that Stephanie led from the 19th of April to the 7th of June 2024. In this series, Stephanie explored Maha Mudra via pranayama practices.
A mudra "seal", "mark", or "gesture"; are symbolic or ritual gestures or poses in Hinduism, Jainism and Buddhism. Maha means Great, we come to the Great Seal.
Most mudras are performed with the hands and some involve the entire body. Hatha yogic mudras are generally internal actions, involving the pelvic floor, diaphragm, throat, eyes, tongue, anus, genitals, abdomen, and other parts of the body.
In Hatha yoga, mudras are used in conjunction with pranayama (yogic breathing exercises), generally while in a seated posture, to stimulate different parts of the body involved with breathing and to affect the flow of prana and thus associated with the consciousness in the body.
Each class is 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Students should be experienced and regularly practising pranayama as taught within the Iyengar system.
The recordings will be available for 8 weeks from the date of purchase.
If you have any questions, please email Stephanie at [email protected].
The cost is AUD $180.
